Lazy Saturday

I had the best first half of a day I have had in a really long time.  I mean, the second half is pretty good too, but the first half of the day was super good.

It started with breakfast at Elmo's Diner on Ninth Street where I caught up with a good friend, whom I had lost touch with.  After that we headed to the Durham Farmers Market and got some great veggies for dinner tonight and this week. I even got fresh figs! She also bought handmade soap! I had never been before, and it was so much fun! I can't wait to go again next week. I might try to buy some eggs or some cheese; they even half chicken and bison there!

Then we went to the Scrap Exchange, which is a great place for anyone who is artsy-crafty or likes random stuff. and by random, I mean RANDOM! Old vials, floppy disks, leftover tile; I bought the coolest earrings there, made from watch parts.  They are my first piece of steam punk jewelry! And they are awesome! I'll try to get a good picture for you all!

After that B suggested we go to the Bridal Mart in Burlington. What a fun excursion!  I had not left the house this morning planning on trying on wedding dresses, but it was so nice to just go for the fun of it, and try on so many different styles. i like that I really could walk around and just pick out whatever caught my eye.  Now I will admit there are a lot of dresses out there that are not my style; as I am not much for beads and sequins, but there were some that were really nice and so up my alley!  However, I will warn anyone going there that this place is not for the modest.  the "dressing" room is a big back room, with no privacy at all. Not one shred.

But as for affordable and huge selection, they have it.

Then I came home and ate some veggie sushi for lunch and sat in the sun until just now. GREAT day!
